The new Transport Museum is getting closer and closer to completion, the design and permitting of the main building is on schedule, with construction set to begin in 2023 as originally planned.
In addition, according to the government's decision in September the demolition and remediation works of the venue at Northern Maintenance Depot (Északi) can begin.
We received the building permit for the first four buildings of the complex in November 2021. These will include a café, a restoration workshop, an event and exhibition space, and a Cold War shelter.
In September 221, we also obtained building permits for the railway station to be built at the New Transport Museum, on the Budapest Keleti - Hatvan - Miskolc, and Budapest Keleti - Újszász - Szolnok lines.
Diller Scofidio+Renfro, the world famous New York-based architecture firm and its Hungarian partner M-Teampannon was selected on an international architectural competition to design the new Transport Museum.
